SAT and Toefl



Group Classes: SAT
  • These courses are divided into 4 separate units, each lasting for 10 weeks, with a final 5 week unit at the end of the year to review the year’s work
  • Each unit covers the test in general but focuses on a specific topic
  • There is a test at the beginning and the end of each topic to check the student’s progress
  • Classes are limited to 10 students

SAT English Foundation Monday/Wednesday/Friday 4.30-6.30
For an introduction to the SAT. This course will give students a strong base of grammatical knowledge and reading comprehension as well as a thorough introduction to the various parts of the test. Such a foundation will be invaluable in building up to a great score.

Unit 1: Building a Great Vocabulary and Improving Grammar

Unit 2: Accelerating Reading and Writing
Unit 3: Critical Reading and Mastering Vocabulary
Unit 4: Mastering Critical Reading
Unit 5: Review of the Year


SAT English Preparation Monday/Wednesday/Friday 4.30-6.30

For advanced students or those who are experienced in the SAT. This course will focus on the specific areas of grammar, writing, and reading that make up the SAT. The course also includes a great deal of testing to build endurance and confidence under pressure.

Unit 1: Essential Grammar and Vocabulary
Unit 2: Critical Reading Methods and Specialised Grammar
Unit 3: Critical Reading
Unit 4: Essay Writing and Critical Reading
Unit 5: Review of the Year


SAT Math Class Tuesday/Thursday 4.30-6.30
This course is an in-depth focus on the different mathematical concepts which are tested on the SAT. Although this class is focussed on the SAT, it is very helpful for math students in general because it focuses on problem solving, logical thinking, and mastering the central concepts of mathematics.

Individual Classes
  • Individual classes are ideal for students who need to make rapid progress because they are behind or those who are ahead and are aiming for a particular goal
  • Individual classes result in great progress because they are focussed by the teacher on the areas the student needs to improve on
  • Students answer more questions and have more opportunity to ask questions and consequently cover more material because the teacher is dealing only with them not with other students

SAT/Toefl Focussed Preparation
Students work with a private tutor who will design classes to help the student work on his or her weak areas.
Classes at any time. Classes available in blocks of 10 hours with discounts for buying in bulk.

SAT Ivy League Preparation

Students work one on one with the director of Oxford’s After School Program to turn good scores into great scores. Identification of the students’ learning style and then application of the appropriate tricks and strategies for each student. Students learn how to identify question and types and error types. A special module on writing effective college application essays. Entry to this course is limited to students who have scored 650 in both Grammar and Critical Reading on actual SATs or who can do so in a test at Oxford. Classes available in blocks of 10 hours with discounts for buying in bulk.
